WHAT IS THE MOUNTAIN MOVEMENT?

Team Adventure Portal's Mike Jock, Lukas Wear, Mike King and Silas Carey, are launching a new project in The New York City area called The Mountain Movement.

 

They plan to offer free weekly workouts that focus on inclusiveness. The members will range in age and fitness levels, therefore all of the workouts will be scalable so both the athlete and recovering couch potato can work together and walk away feeling like they got a pretty intense workout.

 

They will pick weekly locations that keep the group together or in a loop so that there is constant motivation.

 

Support is always offered + encouragement is always given. So as members pass each other, no one is to feel like he or she is underperforming. The focus should be placed on one's own personal effort and that focus is encouraged by the group.

THE COMMITMENT

 

 

They, as leaders in their community, will always be there when their members show up!  NOT LATE, NOT WEATHER DEPENDENT. They are weatherproof and committed to change. The mountains don’t care if there is rain, sleet, snow, high winds, extreme heat, or hurricanes. How we do one thing is how we do all things. When you ask a member if they will be at the next workout they are making a verbal commitment. We encourage our members to stick to their commitments. We want to set a sense of accountability. This isn’t to shame anyone but exactly the opposite. Its there to drive accountability and build a strong culture.

 

 

 

 

THE WORKOUT

 

 

Workouts will be 75 mins in length.

30-MINUTES movement prep, prehab, and body weight strength

45-MINUTES focusing on conditioning; consisting of but not limited to hill sprints, speed, distance, timed miles, trail runs etc.
